The Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone has fully implemented 141 pilot reform tasks.

Since its establishment on Aug 30, 2019, Kunming FTZ has focused on reforming government functions, facilitating investment and free trade, and financial innovation along the border.

With 141 pilot reform tasks seeing full implementation, it has explored new models of economic and social development along the border and broken new ground for cooperating with South and Southeast Asia countries.

The area has also strengthened connections with the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone. The service measures for Southeast Asian overseas talents in the area have also been applied outside of Yunnan province.

Kunming FTZ is gradually transforming the advantages of opening-up into construction achievements through a series of institutional innovations.

The area will seize the opportunities and favorable policy measures brought by China’s opening-up, the China-Laos Railway, and the RCEP, and further boost reforms and trade. It will comprehensively improve the level of opening up, accelerate the construction of an open economic system, and deeply connect with the high-level international economic and trade rules of the RCEP.
