Shennong Agricultural Industrial Group was officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on May 28, raising the number of public companies in the Kunming Area of the Yunnan Pilot FTZ to six, including four main-board listings and two SME-board listings that have total market value of approximately 39.5 billion yuan($6.11 billion).
These listed companies, which consist of three SOEs, two private companies, and one HK-funded company, are distributed in manufacturing, trade, construction and services businesses.
The four main-board listings are Kunming Yunnei Power Co, Ltd, Yunnan Jinggu Forestry Co, Ltd, E-visible Supply Chain Management Co, Ltd (trading suspended), and the recently-IPOed Shennong Agricultural Industrial Group. The two companies listed with the SME board are Yixintang Pharmaceutical Group Co, Ltd and Yunnan Investment Ecology and Environment Technology Co, Ltd.
With six listings in total, the Kunming Area of the FTZ takes up 15 percent and 19.4 percent of provincial total listings (40) and municipal total listings (31), respectively.
Their total market value reaches 39.5 billion yuan, accounting for 4.1 percent of the provincial total (970.7 billion yuan) and 5.1 percent of the municipal total (781.9 billion yuan). One of them, Yixintang Pharmaceutical, with market value of 22.54 billion yuan, is a member of the "10-billion-yuan club".
The Kunming Area of the zone also hosts five "Golden Seed" businesses on the provincial level. Six others that have filed for "Golden Seed" designation but not yet listed also operate in the Kunming Area of the Yunnan Pilot FTZ and include four companies listed with National Equities Exchange and Quotations and two other high-potential companies.
In recent years, the Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone has continuously expanded support for public listing and guided eligible companies to raise funding directly in the securities market, so as to transform economic growth patterns and optimize economic structures. Especially with the inauguration of the Kunming Area of the zone, the local administration has offered a set of preferential policies for the pilot FTZ in order to sustain an enabling environment that helps local businesses go public.
