Grape culture and tourism festival kicks off in Chenggong district

Chenggong district of Kunming, Yunnan province, launched its inaugural Grape Culture and Tourism Festival on Aug 3, offering tourists an enticing mix of food and entertainment.

Held at Qixing Mountain by Dianchi Lake, the festival boasts an array of activities, including song and dance performances, themed markets, long street banquets, children's field activities and bonfire parties.

As guests arrived, they were warmly welcomed with a joyful traditional Yi song and dance performance. Enthusiastic dancers in colorful ethnic costumes captivated visitors with their lively movements and music.

The long street banquet featured a range of delicacies and creative grape dishes such as "wine-brewed soup" and "creative grape cakes". The offerings provided a refreshing and sweet experience, while each table was also gifted 5 kilograms of Qixing Mountain grapes, ensuring tourists left with something to remember their visit.

Within the market, visitors explored an assortment of fresh grapes, grape-based products and various handicrafts, all beautifully displayed.

Another major attraction was the bonfire party, where spectacular performances by bands and dance teams elevated the festival's atmosphere to a lively crescendo.

Children enjoyed the field area, participating in activities like catching loaches and other fish, and playing with lobsters. Adults reveled in the barbecue party, where the aroma of grilled meat and chilled beer created a festive haven. Additionally, the ink painting and calligraphy exhibition offered tourists a chance to appreciate traditional arts.

The festival venue is conveniently located near Dianchi Lake, just a short walk from Wolong Ancient Fishing Village. Visitors can explore the ancient village, enjoy the sunset and breeze, climb Qixing Mountain to pick grapes or visit nearby shopping malls to experience the development of Chenggong district firsthand.

The grape culture and tourism festival seamlessly combines traditional culture with modern entertainment, making it a must-visit event for locals and tourists alike.
