Kunming holds children’s health event for consulate delegation

A foreign consulate delegation from Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, and their families attended a children’s healthcare event at Kunming Children’s Hospital. The event was initiated by the Kunming government in anticipation of Children’s Day.

At the event, children received comprehensive physical check-ups and participated in interactive activities such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture experiences and local cultural exchanges.

They also took part in activities including TCM experiences, viewing specimens in microscopes, playing human anatomy model guessing games, and interactive activities fostering love and care. In aspecial cultural experience area, children engaged in ethnic costume painting, Yunnan intangible cultural heritage skills, and handmade crafts like roof cats. Additionally, Kunming Chunxiao Book Trade Company donated 500 books to the hospital.

Five-year-old Meinida from Laos told her mother, "The herbal lollipop is so tasty! This tablet ECG device is amazing, and the doctor was very kind." Meinida's mother said, "We have been living in Kunming for over a year now, and this is our first time participating in this event. We are very excited. Kunming’s medical equipment is very advanced, and the healthcare services provided are very caring. We hope this event will continue next year. We will definitely come again!"

Yang Weiling, deputy mayor of Kunming, said that Kunming will further deepen communication and exchanges with consulates in Kunming. The city aims to advance cooperation with neighboring countries in medical technology, cultural exchanges, and social development, promoting the development of a regional health community.
