The village of Mozheng has taken on a new look in terms of infrastructure, medical care, and education with the help from Anning city.

Mozheng is one of the six border villages from Mohan town, once a far-flung town in Southwest China’s Yunnan province bordering Laos. The town is taking on a new profile as a booming international land port since it was put under the trusteeship of Kunming in May 2022.

To boost the development of the six border administrative villages, Kunming's five major urban districts and the city of Anning have established a cooperative approach in helping with the development of the six villages along the border, launching an overall plan and working out detailed planning for each village.

With the assistance of Anning city, in just a few days, a road approximately 1100 meters long has been built from the village to the fields, facilitating agricultural production and daily life for surrounding villagers.

Last year, Anning allocated 16 million yuan($2.21 million) to undertake 36 construction projects to improve the Mozheng’s houses, roads, drainage system, building square etc. The city also organized over 30 related enterprises and industry associations to conduct field research and investigations in Mohan, tapping into local resources and enhancing agricultural, cultural and tourism development.

After four months of construction, a 7.8-kilometer-long water supply pipeline is completed, with a daily water supply capacity of 300 cubic meters.

It has also coordinated with private enterprises to donate 240,000 yuan to Mohan for industrial development, promoting the development of characteristic products such as pottery, brocade, bamboo tea tubes and Southeast Asian products.
