Kunming unleashes forces for high-quality development

Kunming has vigorously carried out investment promotion activities, facilitating numerous project collaborations in 2023. From January to November, the total funds in place for industrial projects in the city amounted to 52.73 billion yuan($7.33 billion).

Leading enterprises such as Shanghai Shanshan Corporation, Wentai Technology have invested in Kunming, boosting industrial clusters in sectors like new energy batteries, rare and precious metals, and information manufacturing, with a scale reaching hundreds of billions.

Last year, the city's investment promotion efforts covered the most active and cutting-edge areas of national economic development and innovation. It hosted a series of industry cooperation promotion events in key regions such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. These activities led to the signing of 181 projects with a total agreement amount of 301.57 billion yuan.

Kunming optimized full-service support for enterprises. These efforts earned Kunming a spot on the list of China's investment hotspots for 2023.

Focused on the eight key industrial chains, Kunming enhances the modernization of the industrial and supply chains.

Kunming continues to stimulate investments in Mohan. In 2023, the Mohan-Boten Cooperation Zone actively engaged with high-quality enterprises and projects, contacting 809 companies and facilitating the landing of six projects. From January to November, the Mohan-Boten Cooperation Zone utilized a record of foreign capital of $10 million.
