Mohan Port, an important hub along the China-Laos Railway and Kunming-Bangkok Highway, is China’s largest national railway port to Laos and one of the most convenient highway ports to Southeast Asian countries.

As border trade in Yunnan thrives, the traffic at Mohan Port increases significantly, and port management and services expand significantly.

To facilitate the growing traffic, relevant departments in Yunnan worked with Huawei to promote the construction of smart ports with Mohan Port as a pilot project. The average customs clearance time at Mohan Highway Port has since been reduced by more than half.

The Mohan Highway Port has established an Augmented Reality (AR) panoramic visualization management platform. By implementing a high-low stereoscopic video system, AI algorithms, and a multi-level integrated command system, it automatically identifies anomalies such as vehicle congestion and issues alerts. This platform integrates customs clearance with logistics information, allowing businesses to access real-time updates on vehicle clearance and logistics status through handheld QR codes.

The port has undergone intelligent upgrades and transformations for freight transportation channels. By deploying undercarriage inspection robots, a one-stop clearance system, and an integrated intelligent inspection and release machine, it combines such functions as intelligent vehicle inspection and enables drivers to pass through quickly with just one stop.

In addition, Mohan Port and Huawei and its partners have innovatively created a series of one-stop remote supervision solutions to achieve all-round management. In the next step, Huawei will introduce 5G and online inspection platforms to reduce manpower, reduce inspection costs, and achieve convenient port channels and efficient customs management.
