On Monday at 6:26 pm, the State Post Bureau reported that the 120 billionth express mail parcel, containing flowers from Kunming, Southwest China, was processed, marking a new milestone in China's annual express delivery volume. The swift dispatch on a high-speed train is expected to reach its destination in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province, by Tuesday afternoon.

China's express delivery sector has experienced remarkable growth this year, driven by a steady economic recovery, especially in consumer spending, leading to increased logistics demand. Since March, monthly express delivery volumes have consistently exceeded 10 billion parcels, with an average business income surpassing 90 billion yuan ($12.65 billion). The peak season, starting in November with the annual "Double 11" online shopping event, has seen daily deliveries surpass 430 million.

The new annual record reflects a thriving express delivery market, a buoyant domestic consumer market, and a resilient and growing economy, according to the State Post Bureau.
