Villages in Mohan on the border of Yunnan province take a new look in terms of education, medical care and infrastructure with the assistance of Kunming.

To make breakthroughs in education and healthcare, five schools including the Primary School affiliated with Yunnan Normal University dispatched backbone teachers to volunteer in schools in Mohan and help with teachers’ education.

Kunming Yan'an Hospital provided support to the Mohan Town Central Hospital. Seven municipal hospitals including Kunming First People's Hospital paired with the village clinics to provide free diagnosis, expert stationing, and talent training.

To work on projects improving the well-being of residents, the government focused on upgrading the living environment of rural folks and developed the border economy to enable people to live and work well. More than a hundred  plans to ease   people's livelihood  in various aspects such as drinking water improvement, lighting, and renovation of public toilets, were guaranteed by 52 municipal departments, with a total investment of 19.68 million yuan.

Kunming consistently encourages people in Mohan, where the Dai, Han, Hani, Miao, Yao, Lahu, Blang and other ethnic groups live together, to work together to achieve unity and protect the border.
