"Yesterday, they (staff at Kunming's government service window) notified me to pick up my work residence permit, and I couldn't believe it because I had only submitted my documents last week," said Kambanwa from Ghana.
Foreign staff had to obtain a foreigner's work permit before applying for a work-related residence permit. This involved two different departments and two applications, taking almost 20 working days.

According to the administration on Nov 2, now, through the "One-Stop Service" for foreign talent work residence permits in Kunming, the process is streamlined, requiring only one visit and taking just 10 working days for completion.
Currently, 1,522 foreign individuals have received their permits through the service.
