The Milky Way, stretching vertically across the center of the frame, creates a magnificent and romantic depiction of the dark night sky with a luminous band. In the lower part, two figures in their graduation gowns are stood holding a lantern together, gazing at the night sky.

This awe-inspiring night sky image was captured by two 2022 university graduates Ying Haofei and Zhang Zhaohai. They regard it as their perfect graduation photo.

Both born after the year 2000, they began their journey of capturing the starry skies, Milky Way, and clouds across Yunnan in 2020.

Yunnan, located on a plateau, benefits from high-altitude conditions that provide excellent atmospheric transparency and numerous clear days. Its remote regions, far from urban light pollution, offer ideal conditions for astrophotography.

In recent years, Yunnan's landscape has featured prominently in astrophotography shared on various social media platforms.
