On August 25, six first-grade students from Longmen village, Mohan town, came to Chenggong district of Kunming for school.

It is mainly thanks to the paired education assistance program between Chenggong district and the village of Mohan.

Since Kunming took over Mohan in May 2022, Kunming's five major urban districts and Anning city have established a cooperation mechanism to help develop Mohan’s six border villages, working out detailed planning for each village.

Chenggong district has been focused on comprehensive assistance to Longmen village. This assistance includes supporting industries, providing educational aid, and improving the environment, among other efforts.

Chenggong is introducing advanced educational concepts, ideas, management methods, and teaching approaches to its partnered kindergartens. It also provides educational assistance and living allowances to the children of eligible and willing villagers from Longmen village in Mohan town.

Since Kunming took over Mohan in May 2022, it has become the sole provincial capital city in China with both border lines and a border port. It was a concrete action taken by Yunnan province and Kunming to integrate the city into the national development strategy and speed up the construction of a radiation center facing South and Southeast Asia.

Since then, Mohan has developed at a rapid "Kunming Speed". The lives of the people of Mohan are continuing to improve, and all six administrative villages have gained access to cement roads, tap water, and full 5G network coverage.

The improvement to infrastructure and continuous investment has also attracted more enterprise investment.
