The China-Laos Railway had served 41,735 cross-border passengers from 49 countries as of July 22, its 100th day of operation, according to the Mohan entry-exit border checkpoint.
Since its launch on April 13, the China-Laos Railway has been the first choice for the cross-border transport of tropic fruits and people. Inbound tours account for the larger share over outbound services.
A series of convenient passenger services including dedicated channels, guidance on site, and emergency assistance have facilitated cross-border travelers to a great extent, saving over 30% on-site inspection time, and realizing 100 percent train on-time rate.
“I really hope that the China-Laos Railway could be a communication bridge, to connect China and Laos, and even China to the world!” exclaimed Sun Yueling, an overseas Chinese, when taking the China-Laos outbound train.
