The Yunnan provincial government has committed to allocating 1.8 billion yuan($247.69 million) annually from 2023 until 2025 to support the construction of Mohan international port.
This initiative aligns with the decisions made in the 2022 provincial economic work meeting, which aimed to advance the development of resources, ports, and industrial parks.
To facilitate port development, a dedicated fund of 500 million yuan per year has been allocated from 2022 to 2024. This fund will promote the development of areas along the China-Laos Railway and ensure the smooth operation of the international railway's cargo logistics service.
Mohan international port and other border areas are of utmost importance to the province. In addition, suggestions have been put forward for the capital city of Kunming to establish fiscal policies in order to facilitate the seamless transition and management of Mohan.
Yunnan also strives to significantly enhance the industrialization, scale, and standardization of agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, coffee, and walnuts. In Yunnan, which possesses resource advantages, the focus industries of green aluminum-silicon, new energy batteries, new materials, and biopharmaceuticals are being supported with major projects and upstream and downstream support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
