The China-Laos Railway has handled 25,000 cross-border passenger trips since the launch of its passenger services on April 13, according to the Mohan entry-exit border checkpoint.

During the period, the Chinese border town of Mohan in the country's southwestern Yunnan province logged 14,156 inbound passenger trips and 11,752 outbound travel.

On April 13, the Kunming South Station and the Lao capital Vientiane Station launched a two-way international passenger train, allowing passengers to reach their destination within one day. The 1,035-km railway connects China’s Kunming with Vientiane in Laos, and has greatly boosted tourism and economic cooperation and promoted people-to-people exchanges.

“China-Laos railway connects a variety of wonderful tourist attractions in Laos, making it convenient for people from all over the world to travel here,” said Zhang Weilin, a tourist from Beijing. “It’s really comfortable to take the train.”

Since the launch of the China-Laos railway passenger train, all the departments have worked hand in hand to optimize its passenger services and  make the tours safe and convenient.

A multilingual service and professional translation machines are available on the trains, and passenger information displays, broadcasts, and service indications are provided in Chinese, Laotian, and English, greatly facilitating the communication among different languages.

Dedicated channels have been set for Chinese tourists and train staff in Mohan entry-exit border checkpoint, shortening the waiting time and improving efficiency.

Guidance posts are set up at the travel inspection site to provide tourists with consulting services throughout the process.
