According to data released by Ctrip， hotel and flight bookings for the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival in Kunming have seen a significant year-on-year growth of 610 percent. Popular attractions include Dianchi Lake, Yunnan Ethnic Village, Colorful Yunnan Happy World, and Xishan Scenic Area.
Compared to the May Day holiday this year, the average length of stay for travelers booking holiday farms on Ctrip has increased by 22 percent during the Dragon Boat Festival. The main reason behind this growth is that many farms have launched countryside experiences specifically targeting families with children, including agricultural activities, farm product production, intangible cultural heritage experiences. This not only extends the time visitors spend in rural areas but also helps increase the income of rural communities.
Mr Chen, a visitor from Chengdu, Sichuan, said, "We booked accommodations in Xishan and Jinning districts, and the farm activities arranged for the children have been a delightful surprise during this trip."
According to officials from the Kunming Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, in recent years, Kunming has actively developed the new format of "homestay +," with the homestay industry showing a diversified and clustered development trend. This has injected new vitality into the high-quality development of Kunming's tourism industry.
