International tourists are arriving in Kunming in waves, as inbound tour groups continue to flourish! On April 22, a group of 31 tourists arrived at Kunming Changshui International Airport on Malaysia's AirAsia flight AK101 from Kuala Lumpur. This group was the first Chinese-bound tour organized by Apple Travel, a Malaysian travel agency, in 2023. To welcome these guests, Apple Travel prepared a Yunnan-style welcoming ceremony. The carefully arranged bouquets offered a warm and romantic welcome, embodying the hospitality of Kunming, the "Spring City" and "City of Flowers."

Why choose Yunnan as the first stop? In random on-site interviews, many members of the tour group shared their reasons for wanting to visit Yunnan.

"I saw the ancient town of Lijiang in Yunnan online, and I really wanted to see it in person." "I love Yunnan's rich ethnic minority culture, so I brought my camera to take pictures and show my friends back home." "I watched the TV series 'Go to the Places with Wind,' and the scenery in Yunnan was just so beautiful!"

Although each person in the group has different reasons for visiting Yunnan, they all look forward to their immersive journey in the region.

Michelle, the tour leader, explains that direct transportation between Malaysia and Kunming makes it easy for tourists from both places to travel. Though it's the first time for everyone in the group to visit Yunnan, they have longed for its beautiful scenery after learning about it through social media and TV dramas. The group's itinerary spans 8 days and 7 nights, with visits to Kunming, the Stone Forest, Dongchuan, Dali, and Lijiang. Each destination offers unique landscapes, culture, and cuisine for everyone to enjoy.

As inbound tourism gradually resumes, more and more overseas tourists are expected to visit China. As one of the most important destinations in China, Yunnan has gained favor from numerous overseas travel businesses and tourists since the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the resumption of inbound travel operations for foreigners on March 31, 2023.
