Kunming’s GDP reached 198.33 billion yuan($28.67 billion) in the first quarter, with a year-on-year growth of 4.1 percent, according to the Kunming Municipal Statistic Bureau on April 21.
The added value for primary industries was 7.11 billion yuan, up by 3.9 percent year-on-year; the added value of secondary industries was 52.14 billion yuan, a rise of 1.8 percent; and the added value of tertiary industries was 139.07 billion yuan, up by 5 percent from the same period last year.
The city's industrial investment increased by 54.5 percent year-on-year, driving the city's fixed asset investment to increase by 6.9 percent.
