The high-profile China-Laos Railway opened to international passengers on Thursday.
The D887 train departed from Kunming, Yunnan province, at 8:08 am and arrived at Vientiane, capital of Laos, at 6:38 pm.
An hour after D887's departure, the D888 train departed Vientiane to arrive in Kunming at dawn.
The passengers on both trains received specially prepared flower bouquets from Chenggong district of Kunming. The district owns the largest fresh cut flower market in Asia---Dounan Flower Market.
A barometer of China's flourishing flower industry, the Dounan Flower Market exports fresh cut flowers to more than 40 countries and regions such as Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
