A picture of Kunming
Kunming will stick to industrial development to further boost the city’s economy, with the high-quality development of industrial parks being the primary focus.
The city held an industrial development conference on Feb 1, noting that the city’s development can’t be separated from the high-quality development of industries. Industrial parks hold the key. The meeting also emphasized the economic importance of resources and ports.

The meeting notes that local industrial parks should clear their industrial development goals based on their own strengths and situations, so as to pursue characteristics and synthesis development.
Industrial investments should be promoted with more key projects introduced as the new growth drivers.

More favorable measures should be provided to small and micro enterprises and start-ups, and facilitate key enterprises to expand.
In addition, the infrastructure of the parks should be improved, business environment refined, and the quality and efficiency of the development of the parks boosted.
The other focus is the cluster development of industrial chains, with measures rolled out to extend, supplement and strengthen chains to create more connections and gatherings.
