Yunnan's largest photovoltaic power plant put into use

A photovoltaic power plant of 250 megawatts came into operation in Luquan Yi and Miao autonomous county of Southwest China's Yunnan province on Jan 7.

With an investment of 1.17 billion yuan ($ 172.8 million) and an area of 5,235 mu (349 hectares), it is the largest stand-alone photovoltaic power plant in Yunnan.

The photovoltaic power plant was connected to the power grid on Dec 31, 2022. It will generate an average of 397.89 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, reducing about 124,900 tons of standard coal consumption and cutting emissions by 314,600 tons of carbon dioxide, 268.75 tons of sulfur dioxide and 40.31 tons of ash.
