Kunming passenger and cargo flights see remarkable growth

A record 150,000 passengers entered and exited the country through Kunming in 2022, a 49.6 percent year-on-year increase, according to the Kunming Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection.

The number of international passenger flights in and out of Kunming grew by 56.9 percent to 1,100 in 2022. The city also reported over 5,600 cargo flights over the same period, up 305 percent from 2019.

In 2022, the Kunming Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection rolled out "green channels" for cargo flights, strengthened its cooperation with airlines, airports, free trade zones and international cargo enterprises, and responded to the diverse demands of its clients in a move to help improve customs clearance efficiency and promote economic and social development.
