On Aug 15, under the guidance of Yang Cheng, the intangible inheritor of Anning tie-dye, top-ranking players from the Yunnan division of the "21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition experienced Anning tie-dye for themselves.

As a national intangible cultural heritage, tie-dyeing is a traditional handicraft that has been passed down for 1,600 years.

Generation Z said that their experience of tie-dyeing has made them feel the greatness of Chinese history and its intangible cultural heritage. China is a country with diverse cultures, and they would like to be messengers of Chinese culture and spread it to all parts of the world.

The event is part of the series "Foreigners in Kunming Season II"-- visiting Yanta village, Anning, co-hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Kunming Municipal People's Government, China Daily's Yunnan bureau, the Publicity Department of the CPC Anning Municipal Committee, and Zhangshangchuncheng - the new media platform of Kunming Daily.
