On June 23, the first China-Laos Railway tourist train carrying near 500 tourists departed from Kunming Station to Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, marking Yunnan’s progress in promoting railway and tourism in an integrated manner.

On board the train were 80 special tourists--- medics who have helped with the battle against COVID-19 outbreaks in Yunnan and Shanghai. They were offered free rides by the rail department and flowers from the rail employees. In addition, they were also provided free chances to visit, study and entertain in the destination.

Tourists explored a local botanical garden, wild elephant valley, primitive forest park and tasted delicious food. Discounts were available for scenic spots, hotels and inns, and car rental services along the route.
