Zhao Bo, deputy mayor of Kunming, shared the city’s experience in building itself into a “green city” at an online meeting of the Asia Pacific Executive Committee of Urban Land Institute on June 10.

Themed with Join Hands to Build a Beautiful Home of Universal Harmony through Green Development, the meeting was held by ULI’s Asia Pacific branch, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Xi'an government, both online and on site.

In recent years, Kunming has been committed to the comprehensive green transition of its economic and social development.

It is striving to boost the low-carbon circular economy and encourage the whole of society to participate in emissions reduction. The city has shown initial success in these efforts.

Zhao said Kunming is willing to work with ULI’s member cities to facilitate the sustainable development of the world and stick to green and low-carbon development.
