Yunnan short video and essay contest waiting for you

Yunnan launched the "iYunnan" short video and essay contest on Wednesday, inviting expats to share their experience in and stories about Yunnan.

Anyone from overseas who has ever studied, worked or lived in the beautiful southwest province is welcome to present their story and share their experience in text or video.

Time

Submission period: March 15 - April 30

Online voting: May 1 - May 30 Expert review: June 1 - June 10 Award ceremony: mid to late June

Review

(I) First review

The entries will be first reviewed by a review panel, and those selected will be voted on by the public and reviewed by experts.

(II) Public voting

1. The sponsor will set up a webpage to display the shortlisted entries and the public can vote for their favorite entries.

2. Participants can upload or repost their entries through foreign social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, and screenshots of the number of likes and reposts can be submitted to the sponsor and counted in the scores. 

(III) Expert review

The review panel will score the entries based on their expression, creativity and contagiousness.

Awards   

Based on online popularity and expert review, videos and essays will be given one outstanding prize, three first prizes, five second prizes, ten third prizes, and several encouragement prizes. Awarded creators will also be given certificates and prizes, and will receive priority invitations to other events held by the organizer. After the winners are selected, an offline or online award ceremony will be held as appropriate.

Notes

The content of the entries should be positive, not involve sensitive topics such as politics, and not violate Chinese laws, social morality, or public order .

Participants are free to make a short video on their preferred topic. The videos are accepted in MOV or MP4 format, with resolution not less than 1280*720, and be free from any watermark. Subtitles can be in Chinese or English.

Essays are also free from topic limitations. They can be in Chinese or the official language of participants' country, without requirements on genres, forms or length. 

The entries should be original or fully copyrighted. The activity organizer shall not assume legal responsibility for disputes regarding right of portraiture, reputation, privacy, copyright and trademark. In case of such disputes, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participants involved and retrieve the prizes.

The organizer has the right to use the copyright of the selected entries and can publicize and publish all submitted entries in any form and channel.
