Residents of Kunming’s villages are enjoying increasing incomes, as local authorities have issued measures to boost vegetable and flower production.
On Jan 16, village workers were busy collecting roses in the demo zone of a green and intelligent rose base in Kunming’s Jinning district.
Over 20 workers here are from surrounding villages. “It is nice to earn good money near home,”said Wang Kailu, one of the workers.
Near the production base lies a new market where roses and vegetables are sold.
With the implementation of anti-poverty campaigns, Huangchuan village, once a poverty-stricken area in the district, has seen growing incomes and a face-lift.
By introducing companies and expanding scales, Huangchuan now boasts flower, vegetable and other planting economies.
With new roads, multi-functional activity rooms, leisure and cultural squares, basketball courts and other facilities, infrastructure and supporting facilities are basically complete.
