Two rounds of COVID-19 vaccination services have already been arranged for foreigners 18 and above who live in Kunming. In accordance with the requirements of the central and provincial governments for unified epidemic prevention and control, and in order to meet the demands of foreigners in Kunming, vaccination services are now available to foreigners 3 and above who are willing to be vaccinated.
Below is information about these services.
I. Are there any age limits? Foreigners 3 and above, studying or residing in Kunming and meeting the conditions for vaccination are eligible for vaccination.
II. What kind of vaccines will be given? Domestically-developed inactivated COVID-19 vaccines are used currently in Kunming. Two doses are required for the entire vaccination process, with takes 21 days to complete.
III. How can I make an appointment for vaccination?
1. Foreigners in Kunming can make an appointment for vaccination through the following channels: international students should file an application via their schools. After their lists of students who have requested vaccinations are complete, the schools will make group appointments with the designated hospital based on the list. Other foreigners should consult and make appointments with the designated hospital on their own.

IV. What is the schedule of vaccination for foreigners? First shot: December 24-25, 2021 (09:00 - 17:00); Second shot: January 21-22, 2022 (09:00 - 17:00).
V. Which documents should be provided? Foreigners need to provide valid IDs when making an appointment for vaccination. Please present your Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card of the People’s Republic of China or passport and valid stay/residence permit at the vaccination site. Those who are covered by medical insurance plans should bring a valid medical insurance participation certificate (Social Security Card) and a photocopy of their Social Security Card. Please make sure that the relevant documents are valid on the date of vaccination.
VI. Which documents should be signed? When visiting the designated hospital, foreigners between 3 and 17 must be accompanied by their guardians and take protective measures. Before receiving the vaccination, inform the medical staff of your physical condition. The medical staff will then determine if you are eligible for vaccination. If so, you will need to sign an Informed Consent form and a Letter of Commitment. For juveniles 8 and above, the two documents should be signed by both themselves and their guardians. For juveniles under 8 years old, the documents should be signed by their guardians.
VII. Do I need to pay for the vaccination? Foreigners who are covered by China’s social security and medical insurance plan will receive their vaccinations free of charge by presenting their medical insurance participation certificate (Social Security Card) at the vaccination site. Those who are not should bear the cost of 100 yuan/dose (including vaccine fee and vaccination service fee). Payment must be made in cash.
VIII. What should I do after getting my shot? After receiving the shot, you need to stay in the observation area for 30 minutes at the vaccination site and may only leave if there is no sign of discomfort during this time. If you have severe adverse symptoms after vaccination, please seek medical attention and report to the designated hospital immediately.
IX. How do I get my vaccination certificate? After the vaccination is completed, you may request a vaccination certificate from the staff of the designated hospital.
